Vampires are undead creatures that are discussed in length in the ficion of Planet Earth. The beasts are famous for their nocturnal activities tended towards sucking blood from the necks of unwitting victims. Vampires are known to be averse to sunlight, some are able to fly or change into bats and almost all can be killed with a wooden stake to the heart.
In Sonic the Comic, all vampires appear in the Decap Attack series. Here, they are fairly commonplace in Transylvania, going as far as having a separate category in the Monster of the Year awards. One of them once resided in Castle Frank N. Stein, where Chuck D. Head found it now as a skeleton inside a coffin with a stake in its heart. Foolishly, Chuck removed the stake and the vampire quickly reverted to its former glory. It headed for Chuck's neck, only to be disappointed when Head was removed to reveal no neck. Dinner was back on the menu with a headbutt from Chuck, but the vampire fainted or died when Chuck showed he had purple blood. Even more vampires were shown to inhabit the dungeons later, with one of them able to turn into a rat. Chuck was tricked into visiting them by Igor and only got out by having eaten garlic earlier in the day. To fool Igor, Chuck went along with the story of being converted into a vampire by being bitten, baring a fake pair of vampire fangs.
