The Lump is an Amy & Tekno complete story that first appeared in Issue 124 of Sonic the Comic. It was later reprinted in Issue 219.

Story[]
Amy Rose and Tekno the Canary have arrived in the Timber Village Zone to answer a distress call. The Zone Leader reveals that a monster is on the loose, but is only specific enough to say that it is a lump. Sure enough, the monster actually is a lump and seems to be impervious to Amy's punches. However, the hedgehog believes the monster is trying to communicate, so Tekno pulls out her Translator-Scan and points it at him. Helpfully, the monster's words turn to English. Tekno asks why the lump attacked the village, but the foe reveals he is a failed experiment of Doctor Robotnik's that likes handicrafts and was only going to the village for some shopping.
Soon, the people of Timber Village rally to attack the lump. The heroes try and stop them but the commotions sends the lump running away. The mob continue to give chase, but an old wooden bridge they are all on gives way. Amy and Tekno save two, but the monster saves the others from certain death by giving them a soft landing and hurtling them back to the clifftop. Later, the Zone Leader apologises. Another villager suggests giving him a name like "Steve" or "Craig", but the lump settles on Keanu. The Zone Leader then welcomes him into their community, jokingly suggesting he could become a bouncy castle.
Trivia[]
- Keanu's garbled exclamation of "Uurannu" may be taken from "Eranu", a catchphrase from TV show "Shooting Stars".
