Story[]

Mobius is still ruled by Doctor Robotnik. Deep in his Scrap Brain Zone, the enormous Terra-Droid is making the Badniks build a terrifying new machine - the Green Eater! The hard work is proving too much for some robots, with one struggling to keep up. In the Emerald Hill Zone, Sonic the Hedgehog is checking up on the latest fashions when when Tails, Joe Sushi and a rabbit show Sonic something. The entire Zone, including their secret hideout is melting! Worse still, a Flicky points out that the grass is dissolving and reveals that the Green Eater plans to bleed the planet dry! "Over my dead body," shouts Sonic as he speeds off, although Tails worries that might be the plan!

One bursts of speed later and Sonic has made it to the Scrap Brain Zone, freeing Johnny Lightfoot, Porker Lewis, Tux and other Emerald Hill folk from their life as an organic battery. Feeling guilty that they were making such a devastating device, they rush to distract Terra-Droid by climbing on him and smashing it with hammers. Meanwhile, Sonic finds the Green Eater and has an idea. By running around the machine "faster than ever before", Sonic creates a mini tornado and rips the Green Eater apart! As Sonic enjoys a bit of graffiti, Terra-Droid electrocutes all of his former allies by electrocuting himself with them still on him. Not happy about that, Sonic speeds forwards and launches a Spin Attack at Terra-Droid. Unfortunately, the attack seems to have little effect and, laughing, the robot readies his own attack. However, Sonic wonders how it'll do that when it has no battery - Sonic just stole it! Realising it is all over, Terra-Droid collapses on the ground.

Reality bites, however, and Johnny reveals that they have no home now that the Green Eater destroyed it. Fortunately, Sonic is full of ideas. Somehow, the heroes carry the deactivated Terra-Droid back to the Emerald Hill Zone, converting him into a ready-built multi-room home! As always, Tails is amazed.

Trivia[]

  • The Scrap Brain Zone makes its only full appearance in Sonic the Comic.
  • None of the Badnik models seen are ever used again, although one vaguely looks like a Ball Hog and another a Caterkiller.
  • Badniks are shown to tire, with one unable to continue his work. This also mirrors a scene in Megatox where a member of Emerald Hill is too tired to work and is attacked for it.
  • The melted area of the Emerald Hill Zone is never seen again, nor is Terra-Droid's house.
  • Sonic takes a piece of writing meant to show Robotnik in a good light and scribbles over it, something he would do later at Robotnikcon One, graffiting the sign in The Big Con.
  • Removing Terra-Droid's battery mirrors his defeats of Mekanik and The Master Sentinel, although he ventured inside in those cases to remove internal "organs".
