Story[]
Rouge the Bat is in the middle of infiltrating one of Robotnik's bases. She receives a communication from Master Scholar of the Drakon Empire, who grows impatient with Rouge as she spends her time toying with Dunzi instead of furthering the Drakon agenda. Rouge cuts the call short as she makes her way inside the base- wherein she meets her accomplice for the evening, one Norris Wimple! Rouge, it turns out, has been manipulating Norris by feigning an attraction to him to get him to do whatever she desires- namely, putting together a blueprint of Robotnik's lair.
While Norris bores Rouge with theories of Sonic's innocence, Rouge makes her way further into the base and manages to lose Norris along the way. Rouge finds her way into Robotnik's control centre and makes her presence known to the doctor. She lets him know she is no threat and, instead, offers to defect from the Drakons for the right price. Robotnik considers Rouge's offer carefully and decides to offer her triple what the Drakons are paying her for her services. As Rouge leaves, she contacts one of Master Scholar's aides and passes on a message: as Master Scholar's double agent, she intends to up her rate of payment very soon and expects to be paid handsomely for spying on Robotnik from inside his organisation.
Meanwhile, Norris, still in the building, begins to realise he may have been tricked.
Trivia[]
- When encountering an invisible laser field, Norris comments he has experience getting past such a trap from playing the Sneaky Snake video games, most likely a reference to the first Metal Gear Solid video game where the protagonist, Solid Snake, must at one point get past a similar trap.
- Robotnik has surveillance footage from around Mobius playing in his office- he also seems to be watching Marine: Badnik Hunter, which will later lead in to Small Screen Scream!.
