Sonic the Hedgehog[]

Trapped in the Vortex! is a complete story and one of the first to be drawn by Nigel Dobbyn. The story, written by Lew Stringer and lettered by Elitta Fell, sees Sonic and Tails answer a distress call in the Labyrinth Zone. People have gone missing and the heroes soon find them, along with a Badnik attack. Sonic finds himself plummeting into the water and fighting a powerful vortex machine while Tails is left with a decision; save Sonic's life or save the people from a Badnik Processing Plant...

Features[]

This issue's "mega-poster" is somewhat based on the story of the issue, with Sonic battling a few Jawz Badniks as Tails looks on. The artwork is by Mike Hadley. There is a second poster of sorts at the back, with Tails proclaiming a "Happy New Year!" as Sonic looks on sullen. The art is actually just directly taken from the cover of Issue 18, with speech bubbles added to suit the occasion. This art is by Carl Flint but is not credited.
