Sonic the Poster Mag 5 is the fifth edition of Sonic the Poster Mag. Released 18th June 1994 at the price of £1.35, the issue came with one original story and a giant Super Sonic pin-up. This particular week would prove to be an expensive one for STC collectors, this edition coming out at the same time as Issue 29 and the first Sonic the Summer Special, the latter containing a preview in this issue.
Super Sonic made his first appearance in Sonic the Poster Mag in this issue and it was Carl Flint's first time drawing the character.
Strips[]
Ocean of Horror! is a complete story written by Lew Stringer and drawn by Richard Elson. Sonic the Hedgehog and Tails have come to the Oil Ocean Zone to dispose of a threat to the environment, The Pump. Octus attack aside, Sonic easily deals with the threat, but Doctor Robotnik appears on-screen to tell them about a bomb. Sonic pushes himself to the limit to find the bomb, turning into Super Sonic in the process. Super finds the bomb and contains the explosion in a cocoon of speed, saving the day.
