Sonic the Poster Mag 3 is the third edition of Sonic the Poster Mag, a special edition of Sonic the Comic. The issue, released between Issue 20 and Issue 21 at the price of £1.35, contained one original and new strip as well as two pin-ups. Issue 3 was the first in the series to adopt the format of replacing the feature with a full comic strip, something that would continue until the end of the series.

Sonic the Hedgehog[]

The Kid Cruel Caper is a complete story by Nigel Kitching, with art by Mike Hadley and lettering from Elitta Fell. The people of Forest Hills are living in fear of Kid Cruel and the Coconuts, a gang of thugs that are kidnapping the Zone's children and forcing them to be organic batteries. The Freedom Fighters are called in to save the day, but are bested by Kid Cruel placing bombs on his servants. Sonic solves the problem and narrowly escapes death, before allowing Kid Cruel to face punishment from Doctor Robotnik.

Features[]

This time, the only features are one giant pin-up and one A4 version. The usual large poster (by Richard Elson) details Sonic fighting Badniks such as Aquis and Caterkiller. The bonus poster (by Ferran Rodriguez) shows Sonic running over, and destroying, a log bridge. This poster would later be reversed and used as the front cover of Issue 158, long after Rodriguez had left STC.
