Sonic Battle is a 2004 video game for the Game Boy Advance. The title is the second fighting game in the series, after Sonic the Fighters.

Dr. Eggman has discovered an ancient Gizoid but is unable to get it to function correctly and discards it. Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles "Tails" Prower soon find it and attempt to teach it how to function. They learn that "Emerl" requires the seven Chaos Emeralds to become the perfect robot. However, the likes of Shadow the Hedgehog are keen to shut Emerl down before he gets too dangerous.

Several Sonic the Comic characters appear in Sonic Battle, albeit in their Sega guises:

During the course of the game, battles between the above characters take place in several areas, some of which appear in STC:

To date, there has been no adaptation of Sonic Battle in the pages of Sonic the Comic Online. The only reference to it in a comic strip is the appearance of a Gizoid head in Rivals, although it more closely resembles "Gemerl" from Sonic Advance 3. A Gizoid that resembles Emerl featured as a prominent villain in a later story.

The game was the featured title in the Issue 230 edition of the Review Zone. Stuart Gipp awarded it 68%, praising the "engaging and frequently hilarious storyline" but noted that the combat was "weak". Issue 235's Q Zone saw Gipp provide readers with a list of Emerl's ultimate combo passwords. Finally, a letter published in Issue 255's Speedlines asked whether Battle would get an adaptation, with Megadroid replying that it would only happen if a unique spin could be put on it.

The previous title in the series was Sonic Pinball Party. The next is Sonic Heroes.
