The Satellite Base was the former headquarters of the Chaotix Crew in the Special Zone. The building was a relatively small house situated on top of a floating rock in the "weird bit" of the universe, although it also extended further down into the structure. It was home to all four members, as well as a temporary home for Sonic the Hedgehog. Chaotix eventually moved into Chaotix Tower, a central location in New Tek City.
History[]
The base (then simply known as "the headquarters") was first seen whilst the Crew were relaxing. For singing badly, Charmy Bee was kicked out of the base by Vector the Crocodile, shortly before the base was stormed by the Fundamental Four. Later returning to accept Vector's forgiveness, Charmy spotted their plight and visited The Hive to borrow several worker bees. The swarm then returned to the Satellite Base and turned the Fundamental Four into a pot before freeing Charmy's friends.
Sonic first visited the Satellite Base when transported there by the Omni-Viewer. The hedgehog had grave news about Super Sonic being on the loose, but the team were already about to head to Planet Meridian. Following an altercation with the Discriminators, Chaotix returned to base and decided how they would rescue Sonic. Their plan took them to the home of Lord Sidewinder, where Omni was able to trap Super Sonic within him. As a temporary measure, the combined pair were kept in the base. Before long, the team noticed that Omni had merely slowed time in himself and Super would eventually escape. They set out to trap Omni and Super in the Black Asteroid, their mission briefly postponed by a fight with Sidewinder in their own home. One successful escort later, Sonic and Chaotix returned home. Unfortunately, Sonic soon bored of his life in the Satellite Base and, during one sleepless night, noticed that Charmy was being kidnapped by other bees. His interference saw him rescue Charmy and fight off a horde of wasps before going back to base.
Soon, Sonic decided to move into a flat of his own in New Tek City. Before long, Chaotix followed suit, obtaining a mortgage for the newly-branded Chaotix Tower. It is unknown what happened to the Satellite Base after this, but it has now been destroyed by Shadow the Hedgehog's annhilation of the Special Zone.
