Richard Burton was the first editor of Sonic the Comic. A huge influence on the comic, his stint in charge lasted from the first issue, until Issue 34. After passing on the role to Deborah Tate, Burton remained on as 'managing editor' until Issue 73. Even then, he remained as 'consultant', his last credited appearance being as late as Issue 109.
As well as his editorial duties and adopting the personality of Megadroid, Burton also provided a few entries for the Review Zone.
Outside of Sonic the Comic, Burton was also the editor of 2000 AD from 1987 to 1993, leaving to start up STC. Burton is also responsible for co-creating the Eagle Awards.
