Story[]
Knuckles the Echidna has paid a visit to the Mushroom Hill Zone and Porker Lewis is keen to welcome him. However, Knuckles isn't keen to talk and decides to punch one of the Emerald Hill folk's house down. He then announces that the Floating Island is his and everyone else is now his slave. However, another Knuckles arrives with a package, warning everyone that this "Knuckles" is an imposter. The two begin to fight, but the evil echidna is a "perfect duplicate" of the real Knuckles, but can pack a better punch. With Knuckles "destroyed", the fake gives the Mushroom Hill residents one hour to decide their fate.
Moments after the clone disappears, Knuckles wakes up and explains his story. He reveals that he stumbled across an old package wrapped tightly in paper. Inside was a mirror; however, Knuckles' reflection burst out of the mirror and gained its freedom. Knuckles eventually read a note that stated that the mirror was really a prison for evil spirits and took on Knuckles' form to escape. As part of Knuckles' plan to defeat his impostor, he appears before his enemy and encourages him to give chase. Knuckles leads him into the forest, but then seems to turn and charge. The spirit leaps at his foe, but discovers too late that he has actually jumped back into the mirror. To ensure that no spirits could ever escape again, Knuckles smashes the mirror.
Trivia[]
- This is the last ever strip to be drawn by Mike White.
- Kitching revealed in a Message Zone thread that the final line in the script was altered by editor Audrey Wong. Instead of "That mirror would have looked cracking in my bedroom", Kitching's original line was "That mirror would have looked really good in my bedroom".
