Poison dryalids are plants found on the Floating Island, exclusively in the Kohenyu Graveyard. They can sense predators in their proximity and defend themselves, spraying a purple mist of poisonous spores into their face. The toxins can cause sickness, dizziness, hallucinations and, eventually, death.
Knowing this, Knuckles the Echidna came to the graveyard with a face mask when looking for a Master Emerald. A fall from the cliff saw him lose his protection and landed right next to a dryalid. The plant wasted no time in spraying Knuckles. The echidna soon believed himself to be hallucinating when he was faced with the Spirit of the Herd. Before too long, Knuckles passed out from the poison but was strong enough to fight and eventually woke up unscathed.
