The name of this character has never been revealed. Not to be confused with the old crone from The Legend of the Golden Axe.
An old woman lives in the Silent Spire Zone. The green-skinned Mobian is the Zone's leading expert on the "Curse of Silent Spire", having studied the legend for years.
History[]
During her many years in Silent Spire, the old woman had discovered a myth that suggested a gargoyle would rise up on All Hallows' Eve and "steal a maiden for its bride". Such an event occurred in 2013, when local resident Skye Sparrow was kidnapped whilst waiting for her date, Birtle.
Amy Rose was in the area, watching over the Hallowe'en Festival, when the crime was committed. The hero readied her crossbow to shoot the foe down, but the old woman stopped her, stating that the gargoyle is invincible. She then went on to reveal that the bride of the gargoyle would become a gargoyle herself, a spell being cast at midnight that would leave Sparrow unfeeling, immortal and trapped in time. Before she could finish her story, Amy left.
Eager to help, the old woman also left to find a book that would contain the gargoyle's one weakness. She found the book and brought it along to the clock tower, just in time to witness Amy being strangled by the gargoyle, although her progress had been slow due to her old age. However, she didn't actually know the correct word, leaving it to Sparrow to take control of the situation from inside a Badnik shell.
Following Birtle's release from his own Badnik casing, the old woman was left confused as to why Doctor Robotnik's machines had stuck so closely to the legend.
