The Oil Desert Zone is a Zone on Mobius.
History[]
During the rise of the New Robotnik Empire, Doctor Robotnik needed a near-unlimited supply of resources to build his Badnik army. The Oil Desert Zone appeared to be perfect - rich in oil but also treacherous enough that Freedom Fighters wouldn't come meddling. The plan appeared to be flawless for a number of months, until the newly-free Shortfuse the Cybernik and his team of Scrap Mobians began to sabotage a number of key refineries.
Tails and Holly Thumpfoot visited the area, having heard of rumours of attacks against Robotnik's forces. He secretly hoped the saboteur was Sonic the Hedgehog, currently missing since Operation Iblis. They met with the Scrap Mobians, who had been fighting Troopers and infiltrating Badnik Processing Plants. Indeed, despite a little resistance, they demolished one large factory, diminishing Robotnik's power in the war.
Geography[]
The Zone is said to be extremely isolated and one that doesn't a lot of visitors, if any. Although only seen since the guerrilla-style attacks waged by the Scrap Mobians, the landscape is a desolate one, littered with ruined factories and oil pipelines. The desert aspect brings to mind the Sandopolis Zone but with machinery not out of place in the Oil Ocean Zone.

The Oil Desert Zone is the third level to be featured in the video game Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II. As in the comic, the Zone is a combination of a desert and an oil refinery, before transforming into a rubbish tip later on.
