A Metallix robot modelled after Sonic the Hedgehog that was built seperate from the Brotherhood of Metallix. This was supposed to be an advanced version of the original Metal Sonic, although it turned out to be less effective than its predecessor.
Metallix Mk. 2 is based off the Mecha Sonic boss from Sonic & Knuckles's Sky Sanctuary Zone.
History[]
Metallix 2 appeared in Sonic the Comic issues 49 and 50 in the two-part story Countdown to Disaster. Robotnik had sent it to steal the Master Emerald so that he could use its power to launch the Death Egg. Metallix took possession of the Master Emerald only to be intercepted by Sonic and Knuckles, who followed the robot to the Sky Sanctuary Zone via teleporter. Metallix absorbed Chaos energy directly from the Emerald, empowering himself and gaining an advantage over Sonic and Knuckles. Knuckles was knocked unconscious, but Metallix made a critical mistake during the fight: it knocked Sonic right over to the Master Emerald. Sonic powered himself up with Chaos energy and turned into Super Sonic, quickly bringing the battle to an end by knocking Metallix's head clear off and then ripping the body apart.
Abilities[]
Metallix 2 possesses speed almost equal to Sonic and is just as strong as the previous Metallix. It is capable of flight and rocket-dashing, has telescopic limbs so it can extend its punches further, and its power core allows it to absorb Chaos energy. Chaos-powered, Metallix 2 can generate an impervious shield and can fire large bursts of plasma from its torso. It cannot utilize Chaos energy very efficiently, however, as it exhausts its power very quickly. This means that Metallix must recharge after each attack.
Trivia[]
