The Lava Loch Zone is a Zone on Mobius. As its name suggests, the area largely consists of a massive lake of lava, surrounded by solidified molten rock. Although no settlements are shown to exist there, at least one person visited often to enough to note the change in the Zone's rock sculptures.
Shortfuse the Cybernik was flying over the Lava Loch one day when the planet-wide electromagnetic pulse caused his power to die. The Cybernik plummeted into the fiery lake and remained there until his power returned. He was then able to crawl onto the shore where the magma cooled around him, turning Shorty into a rock statue. The Freedom Fighters were called in to investigate the discovery, but were relieved when it was Shortfuse who broke out of the rocks. Angered that Doctor Robotnik had been defeated without him, Shortfuse left the Zone to take up a full-time job.
