Jake is a young bear and one-time member of the Emerald Hill folk when they lived in the Mushroom Hill Zone.
History[]
Along with the rest of the Emerald Hill Zone, Jake was forced to move to the Floating Island when the Death Egg was destroyed, fearing a revenge attack. The child lived in peace for several months (despite a near-catastrophe when the island fell into Mobian mountains thanks to Doctor Zachary). However, when sleeping in his bed one night, Jake was approached by a lone EggRobo; the Badnik's own power source had exhaused and now needed an organic battery to continue working. Before the EggRobo could claim its prize, it was scared off and Jake hid in his closet to avoid the loud noises.
Not knowing that Jake was safe, Knuckles the Echidna was sent to destroy the Badnik and free the boy. The chase took him to the Lava Reef Zone, where Knuckles took care not to punch the EggRobo too hard in fear of hurting Jake. Understandably, Knuckles was distraught when the Badnik stepped on a flame pit and exploded. However, when heading back to the village to inform Jake's mother of her son's death, Jake appeared safe and sound.
