Sonic the Hedgehog[]
The Great Escape! is a 2-part Sonic story by Nigel Kitching, Roberto Corona, Timothy Marx and Ellie de Ville. Doctor Robotnik learns from Generals Rust and Bucket that the Emerald Hill folk have deserted the Emerald Hill Zone. Elsewhere, the Freedom Fighters prepare to break into a Badnik Processing Plant, hoping to save the last few Emerald Hill villagers.
Kid Chameleon[]
Back to Unreality is a 6-part story by Michael Cook, with art from Brian Williamson and Steve White, Tom Frame providing the lettering. Casey is currently in the guise of Skycutter and is making light work of the sewer creatures sent to attack him. His arrogance soon loses him his hoverboard and he soon loses his nerve once he enters the Midnight Graveyard. Fortunately, Casey can easily transform and becomes Juggernaut.
Knuckles the Echidna[]
Total Chaotix is a 6-part Knuckles story, the first to feature the Chaotix Crew. Written by Kitching, drawn by Richard Elson and lettered by Elitta Fell, the story continues as two Metallix models attempt to steal the Omni-Viewer. Vector the Crocodile attempts to break through but the Metal Sonics are eventually successful in kidnapping the entity. Despite Nack the Weasel's protests, Knuckles accompanies Chaotix to the Egg Fortress, where the Emperor Metallix begins to create a Pirate Omni-Viewer.
Sparkster[]
Last of the Rocket Knights is a 6-part Sparkster story, the only one in the series. Written by Kitching, drawn by Keith Page and lettered by Steve Potter, the story sees Sparkster learn that Princess Shelly is to be married to King Gedol, but the evil ruler first attempts to throw Sparkster in the dungeons. Sparkster overpowers the guards escorting him, killing two in the process. Meanwhile, Shelly is fitted out for the wedding, much to Stubb's protests. Sparkster also manages to end the brainwashing of two Castle Zebulan guards.
Features[]
The Control Zone, hosted by Megadroid, welcomes Boomers to this issue's stories and features with Megadroid declaring he needs a holiday before (unfortunately) informing everyone that prices go up by 5p next issue, as well as a redesign in Issue 58. There's also news on the Sega Bus. The Sega Charts see things mostly unchanged, with Winter Olympics, Ground Zero Texas and Bram Stoker's Dracula still top of their respective systems. Desert Speed Trap moves to the top of the Game Gear rankings.
An absent Review Zone moves the Graphic Zone forward, with Sonic, Tails and Robotnik enjoying the sun. Those who got pictures published received a pack of Crayola Overwriters.
