Strips[]
Sonic the Hedgehog[]
Metamorphia is a complete story by Lew Stringer, Mike Hadley, John M Burns and Ellie de Ville that introduces the character Metamorphia. Sonic is called to the Grim Zone, where he is tricked into being captured by the titular villain. Sonic breaks out of the Retro Block before Doctor Robotnik arrives and not even impersonating Tails is enough for Metamorphia to defeat Sonic again.
Streets of Rage[]
Skates' Story is a 6-part story written by Mark Millar, drawn by Peter Richardson and lettered by Tom Frame. The Princess Grace has exploded, killing many of its passengers. Skates has grabbed a flare gun and is planning to kill Mr X until a police helicopter orders him to stop. The villain is later arrested after Skates' classmate produces a copy of his computer disk. After meeting with the vigilantes, Skates agrees to help them in the future.
Tails[]
The Morbidden Hunt is a 4-part story by Mark Eyles, with art from Casanovas and Burns, lettering by Elitta Fell. After landing on a beach, Tails is greeted by Prince Catalus who introduces him to Jimmy and Jilly. The cubs explain that they are to play a game of hide-and-seek with Queen Vulpecula. At Castle Morbidden, Liemould remarks that they seem a bit small, but Vulpecula is ready to begin the fox hunt. In no time, they find themselves in a dead-end.
Pirate S.T.C.[]
Pirate S.T.C is a 6-part story by Stephen Bliss and Steve Potter. The action begins, with Granee 8 Ball turning cute woodland creatures into bubble bath containers. The heroes help them by catching the balls she fires and unleashes her own weapons back at her. In the other game, Sackhead and Flame select their utilities before beginning the fight against Vangar the Spatula Constructor.
Features[]
This issue's Control Zone sees Megadroid introduce the stories and features inside, as well as teasing the start of the Mutant League series next issue. There are also new dates for the Sega Bus tour. The Sega Charts have several new leaders, with Virtua Racing a new entry straight in at the top of the Mega Drive chart. Jungle Book returns to the Master System list in first place and Micro Machines moves to the top of all Game Gear games. Ground Zero Texas remains top of the Mega-CD chart.
Vincent Low hosts the Mega Drive Review Zone this issue, awarding both Art of Fighting and Body Count 75%. McDonald's Treasure Land fares better, receiving 80%. Garry Penn is in charge of the News Zone, providing an early look at the 32X add-on. There is news on Bullfrog's Syndicate and Theme Park, Super Street Fighter II and a selection of new Microprose games. A special article called Sequel Fever by Chris Jones questions if sequels for games are good enough or even wanted.
The Q Zone is a Q&A Special, with David Gibbon providing answers to problems from Micro Machines, Fantastic Dizzy, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Jurassic Park and Sonic Spinball. Speedlines features even more letters, Boomers asking about echidnas and the Bio-Key, there's an anti-Tails fan, someone had a Mega Drive-swapping party and a leukaemia sufferer drew a picture of Sonic. All entries received a Tomy Sonic the Hedgehog Water Fun Game.
