Issue 234 is the two hundred and thirty-fourth edition of Sonic the Comic and 12th overall edition of Sonic the Comic Online. Released on the 22nd of March 2005, the issue contains two new, original stories and several features.

Sonic the Hedgehog[]
Genesis is a complete story that is part of the Sonic Adventure 2 story arc. This installment was written by Ed Reynolds, drawn by Thalia Evans, coloured by James Kennedy Whitaker and lettered by Charles Ellis. Shadow the Hedgehog has brought Sonic the Hedgehog back in time to show him the arrival of Doctor Kintobor on Mobius. He explains that Kintobor made contact with the Special Zone and made improvements on the planet (and on Sonic), before teaching a primitive Shadow the ways of the world. A furious Shadow then takes Sonic to the transformation of Kintobor into Doctor Robotnik, then takes Sonic back to the present to watch the end of Mobius. Although The Syndicate are pleased with Shadow's success, Shadow is only concerned about his old friend's welfare.
Tails[]
Journey to the Crossroads is a 3-part story by Reynolds, Adamis and Kerrie Mock. After saving the Metropolis Zone yet again, Tails still isn't getting the recognition he deserves. However, a portal to the Nameless Zone appears and Tails is forced to rescue Morain from a goblin castle. Morain introduces Tails to resistance warriors Trent and Pippa before explaining their plan to the "hero of Mobius". In the Land Beyond, Errol Blackthorn is informed of Tails' arrival.
Features[]
Megadroid hosts this issue's Control Zone, introducing this month's stories and features. He also informs Boomers of Lew Stringer's new "Brickman Begins" compilation book. The Data Zone gives brief passages about Sonic, Shadow, Robotnik, The Syndicate, the Chaotix Crew, Tails and Morain. The 'story so far' states that "the first part of the Syndicate's plan is complete. The Chaos Emeralds are together again and due the collision the Special Zone has been totally destroyed. Fortunately Knuckles and the Chaotix Crew escaped, but the fate of Sonic still lies in the balance."
Pin-ups this issue are of Tails smashing some 3D Caterkillers, Orbinauts and Buzz Bombers (Mike Corker), an adapted scene from Genesis (Whitaker) and a panel from Tikal story Coming Home (Matthew Allen Smith).
