Issue 153 is the one hundred and fifty-third edition of Sonic the Comic. Released on the 7th April 1999 at the price of £1.30, the issue contains three original stories (one of them new), as well as several features, a free gift of a Bike Badge and a pin-up from Fan Friction.

Sonic the Hedgehog[]

Heart of Evil is a complete story by Nigel Kitching, Richard Elson and Elitta Fell. Sonic has learned that the genies of the Mystic Mountain are planning to stow themselves away inside children's bodies, before earning freedom five years later. The hedgehog objects and smashes the Mystic Globe, before leading the Shanazar children away from the Lost Souls and back into the Desert of Eternity.

Amy Rose[]

Treasure Seeker is a 2-part story written by Lew Stringer, drawn by Roberto Corona, coloured by Nigel Dobbyn and lettered by Fell. Amy is about to fall into a lava pit when Tekno the Canary flies to the rescue. Xenor Krell retrieves the Ultragem and shows her true colours, attacking the girls and destroying Serpentus. Amy tricks her into killing herself and destroying the gem.

Chaotix[]

Crimson Cobra Strikes is a 3-part story written by Kitching, with art from Dobbyn and lettering by Tom Frame. Mighty the Armadillo and Espio the Chameleon are scrapping in the streets thanks to the Crimson Cobra's Brain Scrambler. After interrupting Chris Tyrant's Win A Million, Espio is subjected to the same treatment and both are captured by the army. Soon, only Charmy Bee is only member left...

Features[]

The theme of this issue's Graphic Zone is "Motor Bikin'", with Sonic and friends posing on motorcycles. Printed pictures won Boomers a Sonic the Hedgehog watch.
