Issue 135 is the one hundred and thirty-fifth edition of Sonic the Comic, the UK's official SEGA comic. Released on the 29th July 1998, the issue contained three new stories and one reprint.

Sonic the Hedgehog

Roots concerns the events immediately after Back in the Special Zone from the previous issue. Written by Nigel Kitching, art by Richard Elson and lettering by Ellie de Ville, the story has Sonic the Hedgehog and the Chaotix Crew negotiating the Omni-Door, technology that would allow Sonic to visit the Special Zone whenever he wants. Interrupting this is Root and his servants, Blockhead Bill and Society Max. A fight breaks out, but the two crazed 'villains' are soon kidnapped by what was previously thought to just be a legend.

The Take-Over, Knuckles the Echidna's final solo story, was written by Kitching, drawn by Nigel Dobbyn and lettered by Tom Frame. It involves the Doctor Robotnik Appreciation Tribe as they head to the Floating Island to steal the Chaos Emeralds. However, it soon seems that the four new members have their own agenda and have other things they want to get their hands on, much to Knuckles' dismay.

The Sky's The Limit, written by Lew Stringer, drawn by Carl Flint, coloured by John Burns and lettered by Gordon Robson, is a complete story. Tails must fight off today's nutter, Sydney Bland, who has inherited a flying saucer. After being thwarted once, Tails comes up with an ingenious plan.

As usual, the Control Zone features Megadroid and his message to the Boomers. A teaser for 'Next Issue' also appears, despite this issue having barely started.

This issue's Graphic Zone has theme of "Family Album", showing possible relatives to Knuckles. Winners received a Sonic the Hedgehog watch. This issue's Speedlines also has readers being creative with a new script, a new family of characters and a quick poem. Letters published won them nothing.

The previous issue was Issue 134. The next is Issue 136.
