Contents[]

Strips[]

Sonic the Hedgehog[]

Shady Characters is a 2-part story by Lew Stringer, Richard Elson and Tom Frame. Agent X has just "vapourised" Sonic, but has actually sent him to the Shadow Dimension where Johnny Lightfoot is waiting. As Shayde explains his plot to the Freedom Fighters, Sonic destroys the shadow world by breaking the Black Emerald. Fortunately, Tekno the Canary is able to reverse the teleporter and saves the heroes.

Tails[]

Cat Trick is a complete story written by Stringer, drawn by Carl Flint, coloured by John M Burns and lettered by Elitta Fell. Tails may be good at smashing Badniks, but he's inadequate in the tail department compared to Kat O'Three Tails, who has three. Unfortunately, this gives him an unfair advantage in the handywork industry, angering a beaver enough to call in a robot to kill him.

Decap Attack[]

Decap-Man is a 2-part story by Nigel Kitching and Ellie de Ville. The improved Chuck D. Head is busy fighting all sorts of super villains, angering Igor. However, "Decap-Man" comes unstuck when he is captured by the Mystery Man. When Chuck fails to guess his identity, he gets brainwashed. It all seems to be a dream when Chuck wakes up in Castle Frank N. Stein, apparently knocked out after Professor Frank N. Stein's failed experiment.

Amy Rose[]

Vane Hopes is a complete story by Stringer, with art shared by Roberto Corona and Nigel Dobbyn, Gordon Robson providing the lettering. Fabian Vane is opening a supermarket when he is kidnapped. Amy and Tekno are soon on the case and track him down to the Rocky Valley Zone. They learn that he has been "taken" by the Fabian Vane Fan Club and is actually enjoying a publicity stunt. Karma hits him when he contracts laryngitis before a concert.

Features[]

A forgetful Megadroid presents the Control Zone, introducing the strips and features in the issue. There is also a notice about the start of reprints, beginning next issue in the form of "Classic Sonic" stories. Speedlines sees Megadroid answer letters about a former Beano and Dandy reader, the lack of a new Megadroid design, a Tails poster and Knuckles merchandise. Printed letters earned Boomers an Enamel Badge.

The theme of this week's Graphic Zone is "Summer Exhibition", with Sonic and friends enjoying the good weather (and a belated 5th birthday, with NiGHTS and the soundtrack from Sonic R joining in). All the artistic readers featured won a Sonic the Hedgehog watch.
