Sonic the Hedgehog=[]
Hobson & Choy is a 2-part story introducing the characters Hobson and Choy. The story, written by Nigel Kitching, drawn by Richard Elson and lettered by Ellie de Ville, continues as the title characters find themselves in the base of Doctor Robotnik. The former tyrant convinces the aliens that Sonic is the real villain and sends them to attack. Unfortunately, the idiots are no match for the hedgehog and return to Robotnik with no prize.
Knuckles the Echidna[]
On The Run is a 4-part Knuckles story by Kitching, Nigel Dobbyn and Elitta Fell. After hacking a telephone, Porker Lewis is in trouble with the police. Knuckles tries to smooth things over but Porker panics and runs. The echidna tracks Porker to a bar where Porker apologises but the excuses are put on hold when Porker is recognised by Hammerhead, a crime boss. Meanwhile, the Chaotix Crew hear that Porker is wanted and search for him themselves.
Tails[]
Recipe For Disaster is a complete story by Lew Stringer, Roberto Corona, Steve White and Tom Frame. The two-tailed hero is a celebrity guest on Pizza the Action, a cookery show hosted by Galloping Graeme, but is forced to save the audience is threatened by a Chocolate Surprise Pudding. After a mass food fight with other chefs, Tails tracks down Gerry Corfu, the villain behind all the trouble. One trifle later and the evil chef is fired from his TV show.
Double Sonic[]
Root of All Evil is a 2-part story in the Agent X story arc. Written by Stringer, drawn by Carl Flint, coloured by John M Burns and lettered by Frame, the adventure follows Agent X's attempt to devour the Metropolis Zone with the Doom Seed, a plant capable of spreading across the city. Sonic, Amy Rose and Tekno the Canary arrive to save Gilbert Grumpy but they are soon swamped as vines take over the whole Zone.
Features[]
The Control Zone, hosted by Megadroid, welcomed Boomers to this issue, largely influenced by Robotnik. There's also a list of the hundred people who won an Issue 116 competition to celebrate six years of the Mega Drive at Hamley's in London. Speedlines saw readers compliment the comic's use of recycled paper, a promise that we'll find out what happened to the old model of Megadroid (we never did), a poem of hero worship for Knuckles and another reader glad that Chaotix have returned. Published letters won readers an Enamel Badge.
The theme for the Graphic Zone was Snack Attack with Sonic and friends either eating food or dressed as it. One exception was Sonic rubbing a magic lamp above a cave of Chaos Emeralds, which was mistaken as a teapot! All pictures in the Graphic Zone were rewarded with a Sonic the Hedgehog watch.
