Issue 112 is the one hundred and twelfth edition of Sonic the Comic. Released on the 3rd of September 1997 at the price of £1.15, the issue contains four original stories (three of them new) as well as several features and a pin-up of Funny Old Game by Mick McMahon.

Strips[]

Sonic the Hedgehog[]

No Future is a complete story by Lew Stringer, Mick McMahon and Tom Frame. Sonic has ended another Badnik attack but a new one arrives and blasts him into the year 2997. Here, all the citizens are used to slavery and actively encourage abuse from Badniks. Sonic only makes them angry when he tries to help them, but eventually realises it's just an illusion and returns to his own time to destroy the Badnik.

Tails[]

Channel Hoppers is a complete story written by Stringer, drawn by Carl Flint, coloured by John M Burns and lettered by Frame. The children have become obsessed with the Channel Hoppers, a children's TV show. However, when the audience begins to pretend they are Badniks attacking Sonic, Tails learns a subliminal message is being planted into their minds by the Doctor Robotnik Appreciation Tribe. With the help of Tim Tuna, Tails broadcasts the truth.

Double Sonic[]

It's Raining Bananas is a complete story by Stringer, with art from Andy Pritchett and lettered by Ellie de Ville. A peaceful day in the Emerald Hill Zone goes awry when bananas begin to fall from the sky! With help from Sonic, the bananas are sent back to Flickies' Island where they came from.

Amy & Tekno[]

Spaced Out is a 3-part story written by Stringer, drawn by Roberto Corona, coloured by Nigel Dobbyn and lettered by Frame. Amy Rose and Tekno the Canary are now prisoners of war on the Insectra Empire mothership and Shortfuse the Cybernik is now a prisoner. They meet leader Dark Visor who is leading his people in a war against The Blurrgh. When Tekno attempts to pull a Controla-Crawly from Shorty's armour, the guards accidentally shoot it off themselves. Worse still, their ship is shot down by their rivals.

Features[]

Megadroid starts proceedings by introducing the stories and features in the Control Zone. The page also includes LEGO and needlework creations of Sonic and friends, with the creative Boomers receiving an Enamel Badge. Speedlines includes letters about the inaccuracies in Bravehog and a female STC fan. Speedlines fans also receive an enamel badge.

The Graphic Zone theme this week is "Fast Food" with heroes and villains either dressed up as, or eating, fast food. Successful entries won a pack of Crayola Mini Stampers 2.
