Stories[]

Sonic the Hedgehog[]

Flickies' Island is a 3-part Sonic the Hedgehog story and marks the introduction of the titular island. The story was written by Nigel Kitching, art by Richard Elson and lettering by Tom Frame.

In this concluding part, Sonic and Tails have finally found out who is behind all the problems on the island - their old friend Doctor Robotnik! The situation isn't good, with Robotnik's new Badniks proving almost impossible to destroy and Tails captured by two of them, when a Prosecutor of the Drakon Empire appears from a Mobius Ring. Although Sonic uses this as a distraction, a quick gravity blast stops the action. The alien is here to collect the one who opened the gateway to his dimension, thus capturing Robotnik. With the drama all over, Sonic recognises the Drakon's face, but can't remember where he saw it before.

Captain Plunder[]

Captain Plunder and the Spice Maidens is a 6-part Captain Plunder story, written by Nigel Kitching, drawn by Nigel Dobbyn and lettered by Elitta Fell. Plunder's and Queen Zorabel's crew have finally found the island that hides the treasure of King Akotek. Filch is suspicious of Zorabel's motives and returns to the ship to read up on Akotek. After subjecting Simpson the Cat to a series of painful booby traps, Plunder breaks the seal on Akotek's tomb, unwittingly subjecting himself to the Curse of Akotek..

Sonic's World[]

Out of Work Hero is a Sonic's World complete story, featuring the return of Shortfuse the Cybernik. The story was created by Lew Stringer, with art from Nigel Dobbyn and Roberto Corona, with lettering from Elitta Fell.

The Freedom Fighters are summoned to the Lava Loch Zone, where a strange lump of rock has appeared overnight. Before too long, the rock breaks open to reveal Shortfuse, who reveals that he was flying over the lava lake when the electromagnetic pulse of Issue 100 occurred, sending plummeting to the lava below. Only his invincible armour and reserve systems saved him. Learning about the defeat of Robotnik, Shortfuse decides to try out a normal job, working as a double-glazing salesman, a fast food vendor and a model. None of these go well, but he gets the chance to be a hero again when an alien race contact him, asking for help in a war. Shortfuse accepts right away.

Double Sonic[]

Zero Zone is the first Double Sonic story, created by the team of Lew Stringer, Andy Pritchett, John M Burns and Ellie de Ville. On the search for missing people, Sonic is sucked into the Zone of Perfection, an idyllic area where everyone dresses the same and are only identified by number. Understandably unhappy about being kept here, Sonic tries to escape. This is eventually confounded when Sonic is trapped by The Guardian and is seemingly brainwashed into beleiving he is now "Citizen Seven".
