Story[]
It's Bonfire Night on Mobius and the Emerald Hill folk are preparing to burn effegies of Doctor Robotnik on the Emerald Hill Zone bonfire. Before long, villagers are squabbling over who's "Guy" is the best, but a businessman suddenly trumps them all, wheeling in a towering statue of Robotnik. Tails guesses he must have had help building it, but the man reveals it was a present from overseas. Sonic the Hedgehog isn't so happy about it, considering it a waste of trees.
Over on Flickies' Island, Doctor Robotnik is watching the scene from a camera on the effigy and orders Grimer to release several Badniks from inside the statue's chest. The idiotic villagers believe that this is all part of the show, until Sonic is forced to trash the robots. Tails adds aerial support and is soon asked to distract every last Badnik. Sonic starts to run around the base of the Robotnik figure, setting it on fire. It soon crumbles and engulfs all of the waiting Badniks. Sure enough, the crowd enjoy the burning of the giant effigy, while Robotnik curses enough failed plan.
Trivia[]
- This story shares many similarities with The Big Con. All the Emerald Hill folk are attending an event and believe that Badniks are all part of the show after they emerge from a Robotnik-shaped area. Sonic also destroys the remaining Badniks by running around a Robotnik statue and crushiing them. The minor differences is the different Zone and the absence of Porker Lewis.
