Strips[]

Sonic the Hedgehog[]

The Big Decision is a complete story starring Sonic and the Freedom Fighters. Written by Nigel Kitching, drawn by Richard Elson and lettered by Ellie de Ville, the story deals with Porker Lewis's retirement from the Freedom Fighters. Sonic is initially furious with his friends, but relents when Porker uses his ingenuity to rescue Sonic, Amy Rose and Johnny Lightfoot from a Trooper attack.

Knuckles the Echidna[]

The Ghost Ship is a 6-part Knuckles story, co-starring Captain Plunder and the Sky Pirates. In the story written by Kitching, drawn by Nigel Dobbyn and lettered by Elitta Fell, Knuckles and the pirates have been found by the evil Tantaror. The pirates try attacking the aliens but are easily beaten, some even falling to their deaths when fleeing. Only the Tantaragor Idol can save them now.

Shining Force]][]

The Curse of Zeon is a 6-part Shining Force story written by Kitching, drawn by Martin Griffiths, coloured by Gina Hart and lettered by Tom Frame. The Force swiftly defeat the Zeonites in Ribble (no thanks to Bowie) as Baron Kadavaar talks to Zeon about "magic wands" his guards have. Sure enough, Bowie is struck down by a wand (actually a pistol) and the Zeonites prepare the nuclear bomb.

Tails[]

Fox On The Run is a 4-part story, starring Tails, Tantrum and Fleabyte. Written by Lew Stringer, drawn by Carl Flint and lettered by Steve Potter, the story follows the two heroes as they get dragged along by the bounty hunter. Tails uses his tails to escape the villain and orders Tantrum to create a rockfall that crushes Fleabyte.

Features[]

This issue's Control Zone, hosted by Megadroid, talks about the stories inside the issue, as well as providing the results to Issue 67's Coronation Street competition. The Sega Charts sees no changes to the leaders, with FIFA Soccer '96, Earthworm Jim and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 still topping their respective charts. The Graphic Zone is renamed St. George's Zone to commemorate the English holiday, with Sonic, Tails and Knuckles dressed up as knights and other English personalities. Winners receive a pack of Crayola Overwriters.

The Q Zone is dedicated to Ecco the Dolphin, while Speedlines talks about the Scratch 'n' Sniff sticker given away previously, a tax collector for the Floating Island and a fighting game starring Johnny and Porker. Published letters and pictures won their owners a Sega Sonic & Knuckles disposable camera.
