Story[]
In the Desert of Eternity, Sonic has just been separated from the children of Shanazar by a freak sandstorm. Sonic tries to whip up a speed vortex to counter the storm, but the forces of nature are too much for him and he passes out. Once the storm subsides, Sonic is found by a two-headed creature...
Later, Sonic wakes up in a slave cell in Kullconan Town, of which there is no escape. He disproves this by smashing through the wall. Unfortunately, the creature that captured him is the conjoined Scimitar Brothers and they aren't happy he's escaped. Sonic struggles against their four arms, but eventually uses a sandstorm against them to make them queasy. Having believed that slaves would be easy to control, the brothers quit, only for their employer, Kurse the Sorcerer, to appear and trap Sonic in a cage summoned by a magic spell. Sonic can't build up any speed to escape, so he convinces the Scimitar Brothers to help them in exchange for their freedom. Unfortunately, Kurse casts a spell on the brothers, causing them everlasting pain, before turning his finger on Sonic. The hedgehog is too quick for him and knocks him down with a Spin Attack. Beaten, Kurse grants Sonic three wishes; Sonic wishes for the separation of the brothers, freedom of the slaves and for Kurse to "get lost". Despite being free, the brothers continue to argue and Sonic continues across Shanazar for more adventures.
