Story[]

Sonic is attending a bridge opening ceremony in the Jade Hill Zone (and is, naturally, bored out of his mind). The Zone Leader and local handyman Roger Bodge, the bridge builder, proceed to take their first steps across the bridge, but Sonic, seeing the bridge isn't safe, tries to stop them. Too late, the bridge collapses, and Sonic rushes downstream to save Bodge, having to be creative, since he can't swim. The Zone Leader has been retrieved, and is fuming, despite Bodge's protests that the wood was weak. Before Sonic can head for home, Bodge grabs the hedgehog and drags him back to his house, insisting he meet his wife and have a cup of tea. The DIY nut shows the bored Sonic around the house, and shows off his new robot butler, who he rebuilt from scrap. Sonic recognises the robot as a Trooper, and after a couple of taps from the blissfully ignorant Bodge, the Trooper recognises Sonic as a enemy and proceeds to attack. After a brief clash, Sonic is clobbered by a falling shelf, and is an easy target for the Trooper. Before it can kill Sonic, it switches into butler mode and pours Sonic a cup of tea, with the teapot attached to its arm. The Trooper is confused however: what it's now doing doesn't compute, and it's about to self-destruct. Sonic and the Bodges escape before the ensuing explosion destroys the house. Bodge has an opportunity to do even more DIY, but Sonic quickly advises him against the idea as he heads off.
