In the wake of The Final Victory, Amy, Tekno and Johnny are scouring the ruins of Citadel Robotnik. Tekno hopes to salvage some equipment, but instead picks up life signs beneath the rubble. It's not Shortfuse, as they initially hope however, but a bizarre cult worshipping Dr Robotnik. At this moment, Grand Chief Whip is taking the newest member, Brother Norman, through the recruitment ritual. As soon as Norman finishes reciting the group's oath, the Freedom Fighters burst in, prompting D.R.A.T. to whip out ex-Trooper blasters. The Freedom Fighters retreat back upstairs, seeking more space in which to fight. Suddenly, Brother Norman bursts out in a modified Egg-o-Matic, with extendable arms and fists. The cultist pounds the ground near the Freedom Fighters, wondering aloud why Robotnik rejected the design. His question is answered when the machine's extended fist springs back and hits him dead on. The machine is quickly downed, and Norman is retrieved. The rest of D.R.A.T. have escaped, and Norman is allowed to leave relatively unharmed, the Freedom Fighters thinking nothing of his promise that D.R.A.T. will return.

The previous Sonic's World story was Invasion of the Veg Heads. The next story was Deception.
