Burrobot is a first-generation Badnik created by Doctor Robotnik. Taken directly from Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Mega Drive console, one first appeared in Issue 1 of Sonic the Comic.
Burrobots, unlike most Badniks, are not based directly upon any particular animal. They have squat humanoid bodies but no legs, moving around on caterpillar treads. They use their clawed arms and drill noses to dig beneath the ground and hide, lying in wait to ambush passers-by. After the Grounder robot was designed, however, Burrobots were mostly replaced in favour of the newer, superior models.
Trivia
- In Issue 46, Shorty the Squirrel's friend Hopper was turned into a Burrobot. He was freed soon after when Shorty turned against Robotnik.
