Story[]
Night at Castle Frank N. Stein, and Chuck D. Head is sleeping peacefully in his bed. He gets a rude awakening when former resident Boris bursts in through the window. The monster reveals he stopped advertising spanners on television and is now in Hollywood, known as "Boris Schwarzenblackenbluenberger". However, he has heard that Professor Frank N. Stein is writing a book about his life as a monster builder and Boris doesn't want anyone knowing how he came to be - the studios think he was brought up by his Auntie Mimi in Macclesfield. Chuck is less than sympathetic, telling Boris to "beat it" since the book is being published tomorrow. However, Boris warns Chuck that his failed film career will bring him back to the castle, immediately prompting Chuck to help him.
Downstairs, Boris, Chuck and Head spot Stein at work, presumably on a "slime devil creature". They notice the manuscript and decide that the only way to reach it is with a rope from the skylight. However, Boris' harness quickly snaps and he falls into the chemical mixture below. In the laboratory, Stein notices that the Boris-filled substance is now lumpy, so he fixes the problem with his own "industrial strength liquidiser". Ignoring the screams from within, Stein pushes the bowl into an oven (on maximum setting) and brings Chuck in. It's his birthday! Stein has created a large cake for him, the recipe for which may be added to the cookery book on its way to the printers tomorrow. Hearing this, Boris angrily bursts from the cake and storms out, annoyed that Frank wasn't writing a book about his life. However, these words give Frank an idea and he immediately gets to work on his autobiography.
Trivia[]
- Boris is named for the first time. He remained unnamed throughout his debut story, The Replacement.
- Boris' new second name resembles Arnold Schwarzengger's.
- Boris threatens to move back in if his film career fails, suggesting the two monsters would live together. However, his first appearance stated that the castle didn't need two monsters.
