Asteron is a Badnik based in the Metropolis Zone. The robot has a basic design, consisting of a five-point star, each point tipped by powerful shooting arrows, as well as a central red eye. When this Badnik detects a foe, it will slowly move towards them, getting in an advantageous foe, before self-destructing and shooting out his spikes. When Asteron does this, the organic battery inside will unfortunately perish.
Asteron's first appearance in a story was as one of the Badniks unleashed on the civilians - just to remind them that Doctor Robotnik was in charge. One of Brutus' Badniks has a similar design. Another Asteron was the star of a pin-up by Ferran Rodriguez, with the Control Zone urging Boomers to cut it out and stick the Asteron on top of a Christmas tree.
Many years later, Asteron returned as part of a Badnik squadron sent to stop Sonic the Hedgehog from preventing the crash of the Wing Fortress into the Metropolis Zone. The Badnik arrived on the aerial base by means of a Star Post.
Appearances
