Abandoned Content

This page covers content proposed for either Sonic the Comic or Sonic the Comic Online, but was ultimately dropped. The content may or may not be canonical to the final storyline.

Over the years, both Sonic the Comic and Sonic the Comic: Online have had a number of concepts that were not used for one reason or another.

Johnny Really Is Agent X[]

The original plan for the Agent X storyline was for Johnny Lightfoot to really have been Agent X. This was turned down because Johnny was "Too nice of a guy" to betray his allies. Even earlier, Tekno was planned to be the traitor.

Original Shanazar Plot[]

Originally, Shanazar was simply the name of the city and not the whole planet. Death Trap would have survived their defeat at the hands of Medusa (a prospect which came true in STC-O), and Nack would have also appeared. It is said that Kalus was not to have always been a stone creature, having been transformed into one by a tragedy. Prank was originally going to be a sadistic monster who loved to torture his victims.

Sonic CD II[]

While on the planet later called Shanazar (see above), Sonic would have encountered a Drakon ship landing and a Prosecutor emerging. The Prosecutor places a flag on the planet, which is revealed to be Mobius in the distant past. We would have likely witnessed more of the war between the Echidnas and Drakons. Aspects of this storyline were used during the Chaos arc. The name probably refers to the use of time-travel in the plot.

Echidna Prisoners Unleashed[]

Dr. Zachary was to uncover a group of Echidna criminals in hypersleep and free them. This was also part of the original version of the Syndicate, with three total criminals. Type C was a gangster and Type D was a power-mad manipulator. Type B became Vichama.

Silver Metallix[]

Concept art of a Metallix unit based on Silver the Hedgehog was released, but this character did not make the final cut.

Mephiles[]

Mephiles the Dark was planned as a corrupted copy of Shadow II, but this story was cut.

Redemption of Hobson and Choy[]

Nigel also planned for Hobson and Choy to become Freedom Fighters and join Sonic.

Dot.Com[]

"Dot.Com" was an unused villain who wanted to collect the best heroes on his website. To do so, he used a webcam to suck people into his website and place them in his gallery.

The Mudds on Holiday[]

There was planned to be a story with Harold and Maude Mudd visiting Mobius on holiday. It is currently assumed they were killed along with the rest of the Special Zone.

The Wandering Sentinel[]

The Wandering Sentinel was an echidna spirit who occupied a Sentinel robot after leaving his post.

Sonic Meets Sparkster[]

At one point, Sparkster would have been defeated by Reala and ended up on Mobius, where he would meet Sonic.

Kintobor:Space Explorer![]

Nigel Kitching planned for Dr. Kintobor as an explorer who found Mobius and chose to stay. STC-O chose in Genesis that Kintobor found Mobius in an accident.

Johnny and Amy's Smoooth Feelings[]

Originally, there was going to be more elaboration on Johnny Lightfoot and Amy's relationship.

Blaze-ing Pyromania[]

Originally, Blaze the Cat was to be a pyromaniac.

Tikal, Tikal, Old and Grayed[]

Originally Tikal was to be freed from hypersleep, and probably revealed as now fairly old. Something closer to her game counterpart was used in STC-O

A Kintobor in Oz[]

Early suggestions were for Kintobor to come to Mobius similar to Dorothy entering Oz.

Aquatic Race[]

Sonic was at one point to encounter an aquatic race according to Richard Elson, which came true in STC-O.

Return of the Spice Maidens[]

Originally, one of the Spice Maidens was going to die and be replaced by a member named Vanilla. The sequel story would have opened at the funeral of the deceased member.

Doctor Quark And Miss-Miass[]

Richard Elson created conceptual artwork for two mysterious new enemies of Sonic, based around scientific principles; the quark and miasma. Quark’s weapon was known as the Strange Attractor, and resembled a staff with a rotating end. Miss-Miass was able to continuously rotate at high velocity to suck in victims, while her head stayed in place. In particular, Doctor Quark resembles a Drakon.

Coincidentally, he shares his name with a one-off AOSTH villain.

Earth in the Sky[]

An unmade Knuckles the Echidna storyline that was ultimately released through Tumblr, and was originally to be a 2-parter, before it was condensed into one due to the second half not being finished, before being dropped entirely. Knuckles has forgotten much of how to control the Floating Island, and has to re-learn via an elaborate training simulation. This was dropped due to a "Knuckles Curse" backstage that took down two other stories; "Ultra-Chaotix" in 2003 and "The Two Guardians".

Levi the Lynx[]

A recently-revealed character on StC-O's Tumblr, who was ultimately abandoned. He is depicted alongside an Equinox scientist.
